I have done more than my share of travelling in this world, most of it independently, and have lived in Ireland and Mexico, as well as in the US, where I was born and now live.  I have spent time in Sweden, the Caribbean, and various parts of the UK.  Some of my travelling has been in conjunction with my work as a theatrical costumer.  The work has included designing costumes for theater productions, and for an Irish parade;  as well as work on costumes for Shakespeare companies, opera festivals, a cruise ship, the circus, and for independent film.  In one place, where I did the costume craft work for some Shakespeare productions, a quote from the movie Love Actually was posted on the door, “The trouble with being the Prime Minister’s sister is it puts your life into perspective.  What did my brother do today? He fought for his country.  What did I do today?  I made a papier- mache lobster head.”

My travels to the “other world” that I allude to in the title of this blog could be considered inner travel.  They take place via the Shamanic journey.  When I first began to read about the Shamanic world view, that everything has a spirit and that we are all one,  I knew that I was home.
